Raja’s sister, (Sabeena Farooq), is of marriageable age, and the family takes out loans, sells land, and begs relatives to arrange a "load wedding" (a term used in Pakistan for overly expensive weddings). Raja gets a job as a truck cleaner and later a driver, struggling to pay off debts. Meanwhile, Shano, an independent woman with a job at a beauty salon, faces her own family pressures to marry a wealthy, older man.
