Usually, superhero games are about the climb to power. Spider-Man is about the exhaustion of maintaining it. We see a Peter Parker who is failing at his job, alienating his aunt, and struggling to pay rent, not because he is incompetent, but because he is too competent at being Spider-Man. The game forces the player to realize that being the "best" Spider-Man comes at the cost of being a functional human being.

They swing into the night. No music. No quips. Just the sound of wind through webbing.

The environment is an extension of Spider-Man's arsenal. With a quick flick of his webs, Peter can yank manhole covers, concrete blocks, scaffolding, and even enemy weapons out of his opponents' hands to use as projectiles.
