Extremely low numbers often denote a special, limited-edition instrument. For example, a guitar with serial number 186 features John Suhr’s signature and was built from a special old-growth maple tree harvested in 2014.

Fake Suhr guitars are rare but they do exist. A counterfeit will often feature an invalid serial number format, poor font stampings, or physical dimensions that do not match the official factory spec sheet record.
