If you create a bootable ISO using a proper restoration method, you will have a perfect snapshot of the system as it existed at the time of the backup. However, an ISO is a read-only image; changes you make while running from it will not be saved back to the ISO file. For ongoing use, consider converting to a VHD/VHDX virtual disk instead.
