Symbian bootloaders are designed to reject older firmware versions. If a user attempts to flash a custom ROM built on firmware version 20 onto a phone running official version 50, the phone will refuse to boot, resulting in a "black screen" or blinking LED indicator.

Once the new files are generated, the device must be flashed.
