The story follows Wikus van de Merwe (played brilliantly by Sharlto Copley), a clumsy, bureaucratic MNU official chosen to lead the eviction. During the operation, Wikus is exposed to a mysterious alien fluid. He slowly begins to mutate, transforming into a Prawn himself. Suddenly, Wikus becomes the most hunted man on Earth, as MNU desperately wants to harvest his genetic material to fire the incredibly valuable, DNA-locked alien weaponry.
