The mdivwctldll error is annoying, but rarely a sign of a dying computer. In 90% of cases, reinstalling the offending program or running an SFC scan will fix the issue immediately.

The file was inadvertently deleted during a manual cleanup or by an uninstaller program.

Outdated operating systems or hardware drivers can cause system communication breakdowns that trigger DLL crashes. Go to > Update & Security > Windows Update . Click Check for updates and install any available packages.

If the error started yesterday but you cannot pinpoint the cause, roll back your system to a time when it worked.
