Galician Day Fu10 [portable] -

Inaugurated by the Royal Galician Academy in 1963, Galician Literature Day commemorates the anniversary of Cantares gallegos by Rosalía de Castro—the seminal work that sparked the 19th-century Rexurdimiento (cultural renaissance). Each year, the holiday honors a deceased literary icon who dedicated their life to the Galician language.

Despite being an official language, Galician faces the challenge of linguistic shift in urban areas. Therefore, Día das Letras Galegas is more than a celebration—it is an affirmation that the language is a "place of struggle, memory, and future". galician day fu10
