The story kicks off in 2012 when a ruthless alien criminal known as escapes from a maximum-security prison on the Moon. Boris has one goal: to go back to 1969 and kill Agent K (played by Tommy Lee Jones), the man responsible for his imprisonment and the loss of his arm. Men in Black 3 -2012-
Any discussion of Men in Black 3 -2012- begins and ends with Josh Brolin. The task of playing a younger Tommy Lee Jones is a high-wire act that could have devolved into parody. Instead, Brolin delivers one of the most uncanny and nuanced mimicries in cinema history. 4/5 stars The story kicks off in 2012

The story takes place in 2012, but Agent J (Will Smith) is sent back in time to 1969 to prevent an alien threat from killing all life on Earth. The alien, known as Boris the Animal (Jemaine Clement), is a hyper-aggressive, shape-shifting creature from the planet Zorgan. Boris has a personal vendetta against the Men in Black, particularly Agent J, whom he blames for his imprisonment.
What truly elevates Men in Black 3 above its predecessor is its willingness to answer the foundational question of the franchise: Why did K choose J in the first place?
