Do not download VDGS drivers from third-party "driver aggregator" websites. Many of these links contain outdated files (from 2015-2018) or malware. The VDGS driver updates frequently to support new simulators like MSFS 2020 and P3D v5.
Navigate to your Community/aerosoft-vdgs-driver folder and open the file aerosoft-vdgs-driver-log.ini with a text editor. Change the line Verbose=0 to Verbose=1 and save the file. Launch MSFS and try the VDGS again. Afterwards, check the new .log file in the same folder for clues. It might reveal errors like PACKAGE_NAME_UNVERIFIED which indicates the driver is unable to verify the airport package.
